Terms of service
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of sylkatelier.com and any purchase made through it. By placing an order, you agree to them in full. Sylk Atelier is a trading name operated from the United Kingdom. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
About Our Gowns
Every gown in the Sylk Atelier collection is made to order. Production begins upon receipt of full payment and your confirmed measurements and customisation choices. Because each piece is created specifically for you, orders cannot be cancelled once production has begun.
Ordering and Payment
Full payment is required at the time of purchase. We accept all major credit and debit cards via Shopify's secure checkout. Prices are displayed in your local currency. If you are purchasing from outside the United Kingdom, your card provider will apply the prevailing exchange rate at the time of transaction.
Production and Delivery
Our current production window is 6 to 10 weeks from the date your order is confirmed. Delivery time is additional to this and will vary by destination. We will provide tracking information once your order has been dispatched. Sylk Atelier is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing, carrier disruption, or circumstances outside our control. Import duties and taxes applicable in your country are your responsibility. Customers should be aware that purchases are subject to any customs duties and/or VAT on import. We recommend checking your local regulations before ordering.
Accuracy of Your Order
It is your responsibility to provide accurate measurements and confirm all customisation choices before submitting your order. We will make your gown to the specifications you provide. Errors in the information you submit are not grounds for a remake or refund.
EU Consumers: Right of Withdrawal
Under EU consumer law, customers ordinarily benefit from a 14-day right of withdrawal on distance purchases. However, this right does not apply to goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. As every Sylk Atelier gown is made to order to your confirmed measurements and customisation choices, the right of withdrawal does not apply to your purchase. This is consistent with Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU. If your gown arrives faulty or not as described, your rights under EU consumer law remain fully intact and are not affected by this exclusion.
Intellectual Property
All designs, images, and written content on sylkatelier.com are the property of Sylk Atelier. They may not be reproduced, copied, or used without prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sylk Atelier's liability in connection with any order is limited to the value of that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss of any kind. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Statutory Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights. Customers based in the United Kingdom retain all rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Customers based in the European Union retain all rights under applicable EU consumer protection law. Customers based in the United States retain all rights under applicable federal and state consumer protection law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order.
